Bertie Og Murphy has ruled out any return to the Cork hurling hot-seat despite efforts to reinstall him as manager.

Bertie Og Murphy has ruled out any return to the Cork hurling hot-seat despite efforts to reinstall him as manager.

Murphy's resignation has yet to be ratified at County Board level and chairman Jim Cronin insisted on Tuesday night that more discussion was needed.

But Murphy spelt out his position and said: "My decision to resign the position is definite and there is no turning around. I resigned as Cork senior hurling coach and that decision is final."

Murphy follows senior coach Ted Owens out the door of the county scene following a tumultuous summer.
