Hit-and-run leaves man dead in Cavan

Gardaí have confirmed that a man found dead on the side of a road in Cavan this afternoon was the victim of a hit-and-run.

Gardaí have confirmed that a man found dead on the side of a road in Cavan this afternoon was the victim of a hit-and-run.

They have launched an investigation into the death.

The man's body was found on the Carrickmacross Road near Kingscourt, shortly after 2.30pm this afternoon.

A technical examination is being carried out by Gardaí and the road remains closed this evening.
