A teenager has been hospitalised in Limerick after being stabbed in the back during an attack in the early hours of this morning.

A teenager has been hospitalised in Limerick after being stabbed in the back during an attack in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at the Jury's Roundabout on Dock Road.

The 17-year-old was stabbed four times in the back and is being treated at the intensive care unit of the Midwestern Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the stabbing to come forward.
