Dell says there is no change in its original guidelines that it will earn 23 cents per share for Q1, up 35% on last year.

It says that, as predicted in February, it will see sales of $9.5bn (€8.8bn) , an 18% increase from a year ago. Unit volumes are up 25% from last year.

Dell is the second largest PC manufacturer in the world, coming in after Hewlett-Packard.

The company COO said “We’re seeing double-digit year-over-year revenue growth in all regional markets and customer segments.”

Through its low cost production and distribution Dell is continuing to increase revenues while the revenues of other technology companies shrink and it is increasing its market share.

Dell has announced, with Oracle, that Dell will begin shipping its PowerEdge servers with Oracle9i Database and jointly delivered services. The US alliance that the two companies have in regard to the Oracle9i Database and Oracle9i Application Server is to be expanded to Europe and Asia.
