Bank of Ireland is holding an Extraordinary General Meeting in Dublin today.

Shareholders at the EGM are expected to approve a €1.9bn rights issue.

At present, the State owns 36% of Bank of Ireland and if none of the shares are taken up under the rights issue, that could rise to almost 70%.
