A 25-year-old man was arrested today over the fatal stabbing of a teenager in a suspected feud between families.

A 25-year-old man was arrested today over the fatal stabbing of a teenager in a suspected feud between families.

Darren Bennett, 18, was attacked in Moyross in Limerick city on March 18 and died in hospital, with the killing sparking further violence and threats across the troubled housing estate.

Mr Bennett had been found with stab wounds on the street at Creavel Park shortly after 2am following clashes involving local youths.

Gardaí from Mayorstone station in Limerick city made the arrest this morning.

The 25-year-old man was arrested in Ennis, Co Clare at 8.35am and was being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Mayorstone.
