An Armagh man was charged with possession of firearms at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court tonight.

An Armagh man was charged with possession of firearms at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court tonight.

Patrick Wall (aged 42), with an address at Drumintee Rd, Drumintee, Co Armagh, was charged with the unlawful possession of firearms, including a 9mm Israeli-made micro-Uzi sub-machinegun, in Dundalk, Co Louth on Wednesday.

Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne, presiding at the three-judge court, remanded Mr Wall in custody until next Thursday.
