Connections of Sariska are to discuss whether to run her in the stanjames.com 1000 Guineas or step the filly up in distance following her eyecatching effort on Saturday.
The daughter of Pivotal finished fourth to Lahaleeb in the seven-furlong Dubai Duty Free Stakes after being slowly away and meeting trouble in running.
“I don’t want to make any hasty decisions. I’m going to discuss it with the owners. My gut feeling is a mile and a quarter plus will prove her optimum trip,” said trainer Michael Bell.
“It’s just a question of whether it’s the right or wrong thing to swerve the Guineas.
“It was a very promising run and it’s just deciding what is the best thing to do in the short term, but hopefully she is a Pattern winner in the making.
“She has taken the race well.
“It’s just upsetting she missed the break so badly because we’ll never know what would have happened if she had jumped on terms with them and been able to sit fourth or fifth.”
Sariska is as low as 10-1 with Betfred for the 1000 Guineas, but can be backed at 25-1 with Coral.
