US October death toll in Iraq rises to 100

A Marine was killed in fighting in Iraq’s restive Anbar province, the military reported today, raising the death toll among US servicemen this month to 100.

A Marine was killed in fighting in Iraq’s restive Anbar province, the military reported today, raising the death toll among US servicemen this month to 100.

The Marine, assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5, died from injuries sustained during combat yesterday.

The Marine’s name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

October is already the fourth deadliest month for American troops since the war began in March 2003.
