Gardaí are treating the death of a man in a house fire in Co. Kerry in the early hours of Thursday morning as suspicious.
The body of the 58 year old was discovered following the blaze at Ardaw, in Beaufort near Killorglin town.
A post mortem examination carried out by the Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Margaret Bolster showed that he sustained a number of injuries that were not consistent with the house fire.
A Garda technical team is travelling to Kerry from Dublin this evening to carry out a forensic examination of the scene.
Officers at Cahirciveen are trying to establish the 58 year old's last movements - he is known to have been driven to the house in Ardaw at around midnight by a taxi travelling from Kilorglin.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or unusual around the townland of Ardaw between 11 o'clock on Wednesday night and 2 o'clock on Thursday morning is asked to come forward.
