Workers at the aircraft maintenance company SR Technics are to set to hold a ballot on proposals aimed at ending a dispute over new work practices.
The proposals, which include longer working hours and more night shifts, were agreed between unions and management in the early hours of this morning.
The company, which employs 1,200 people, has claimed the new work practices are needed to protect jobs.
It says that, without the changes, a €220m maintenance contract with Aer Lingus will not be viable and it could go out of business.
Aer Lingus, meanwhile, has warned SR Technics that if it does not sign the contract by Sunday, the airline will seek an alternative service provider.
