A member of Iraq’s election commission said final results from the country’s December 15 parliamentary elections might not be announced for another two weeks.

The commission has finished investigating all complaints filed over the election and would announce its findings tomorrow, said Hussein Hindawi of the Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq.

An international monitoring team yesterday started reviewing complaints, and the final results won’t be announced until their work is finished, meaning results might not be announced for up to two weeks, said IECI member Safwat Rashid.

Officials had previously said final results would be announced in early January.
