Toulouse warmed up for their Champions League qualifier against Liverpool on Wednesday by beating reigning league champions Lyon tonight.

A last-gasp Johan Elmander strike secured a 1-0 win for Les Violets, who face Rafael Benitez’s team in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie in France.

Alain Perrin’s team looked like they were going to survive the first-half sending-off of Kim Kallstrom for foul and abusive language when Elmander struck late on, the Sweden striker pouncing on Achille Emana’s short pass and stroking home from close range.

Elsewhere, a hat-trick from Tulio de Melo helped Le Mans fight from a goal down to beat Sochaux 3-1 at the Stade Auguste Bonal.

Bordeaux also claimed a second win out of two to stay joint top after two goals from Wendel da Silva gave them a 2-0 win over Auxerre at the Stade l’Abbe-Deschamps.

The Brazilian scored in the 45th and 52nd minutes to give Laurent Blanc’s team a perfect start to the new campaign.

Another Brazilian Carlos Kim scored the only goal as Nancy maintained their winning start with a win at home to Caen.

Marseille remain without a goal from their opening two fixtures after being held to a goalless draw at home to Rennes.

At the Stade du Moustoir, hosts Lorient claimed a 2-1 win over Monaco.

Lorient are now up to fifth, a place behind St Etienne, who scored a comfortable 3-1 win over Valenciennes.
