A Pennsylvania woman has been ordered to wear a badge reading "Convicted Shoplifter" every time she goes shopping over the next year.

A Pennsylvania woman has been ordered to wear a badge reading "Convicted Shoplifter" every time she goes shopping over the next year.

Lebanon County Judge Bradford Charles handed down the unusual punishment to Regina Zimmerman after her fourth conviction for shoplifting.

Zimmerman agreed to the plea bargain to avoid a prison sentence and allow her to get help for a drug problem. She was also fined $100 and given 12 months probation.

"When you go into stores, I want those store owners to keep a special eye on you," said Judge Charles.

Zimmerman's lawyer said his client was speechless when the sentence was announced after she pleaded guilty to stealing $66 worth of hair and facial products. .

"It was kind of the same reaction that everyone else had," said attorney Scott Stein.
