The National Safety Council has launched a campaign urging motorists to exercise extra caution this bank holiday weekend.

The National Safety Council has launched a campaign urging motorists to exercise extra caution this bank holiday weekend.

Thirty-five people have already died on Ireland's road this month, almost double the figure for May 2002.

The National Safety Council said the best way to reduce fatalities would be a change in driving behaviour, particularly in relation to speed.
