Swisscom AG chairman Jens Adler said his company has no interest in acquiring MobilCom AG because the German's company's debts are too high and because he is unconvinced by its business model.

France Telecom's board last night agreed to pull the plug on MobilCom, sending the German company by its own admission towards almost certain insolvency.

Swisscom is currently present in Germany via its mobile service provider unit Debitel, for which large acquisitions and acquiring its own network are unnecessary, Adler told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in an interview.
