Commuters getting off the Dublin’s Luas where in for a bit of a surprise after being faced with a strange blue man - looking for hugs - as they disembarked yesterday.
It was all for a good cause - Electric Ireland’s Powering Kindness Week - as the guy, dressed in the full blue body suit tried to get as many hugs as he could from the travel weary commuters.
Of course, it was only a bit of fun and by our count he does manage about six voluntary hugs at the St Stephen’s Green Luas stop. However, one guy didn’t take too kindly to his attempts and proceeds to push him out of the way.
Electric Ireland’s Powering Kindness Week has been encouraging people to do random acts of kindness for each other all this week for the benefit of three Irish charities.
People are asked to post their random act of kindness on social media with the Irish Heart Foundation, ISPCC Childline Service and the Marie Keating Foundation set to share a donation of €130,000, thanks to those acts.
The question remains though, would you have hugged him?
