Chinese man dies after assault

A Chinese national injured in a fracas in Dublin city centre last weekend has died in hospital.

A Chinese national injured in a fracas in Dublin city centre last weekend has died in hospital.

The victim, who was in his 50s, was attacked in Temple Bar last Friday night.

Since the attack, he had been in intensive care but late last night he died at St James's Hospital.

Initial reports from the scene suggested that a large number of people were involved in the fracas outside a Temple Bar night club.

The victim suffered injuries to his neck and head, while his friend who has since been discharged from hospital, sustained minor injuries.

Two people have been questioned by gardaí in connection with the incident.
