Consumers warned to expect further inflation

Consumers are being warned to expect further increases in their cost of living due to soaring international oil prices.

Consumers are being warned to expect further increases in their cost of living due to soaring international oil prices.

The price of a barrel of crude reached a new record of $66 yesterday.

The latest increase comes as inflation figures show the rising cost of petrol, diesel, home-heating oil and electricity is pushing up the cost of living here.

The Consumers' Association and business groups are calling on the Government to reduce tax and duties on fuel to curb the rising prices.
