The National Standards Authority has confirmed that it will not be increasing its fees and charges next year.
The authority was responding to the concerns of SFA director Patricia Callan who complained about state and semi-state bodies passing on costs to customers to make up for Government cuts in their funding.
Maurice Buckley the chief executive of the NSAI has said it would not be appropriate for the authority to increase its fees.
"Private companies faced with rising oil costs and difficult financial markets need our support not an extra burden," he said.
