87 million Christmas texts on Meteor network
Around 87 million texts were sent and received on the Meteor network over the festive season, proving once again that the Irish love to text.
The New Year period alone heralded more than 14.6 million texts, with 5.6 million texts being sent between 10pm and 1am alone, sending best wishes for 2007.
The number of text messages sent and received on the Meteor network, which now boasts more than 750,000 customers and a 16% market share, has rapidly increased this year, .
Many meteor customers benefited from being able to send texts for free with their 'Free Meteor to Meteor texts For Life' scheme.
