Man recovering after Dundalk shooting
A man is recovering this morning after he was shot in the foot in Dundalk, Co Louth, last night.
The victim was getting out of his car in the Mountain Court area of the town when he was approached by a masked man brandishing a gun.
He drove his car at the man, but was forced to abandon it a short time later and was shot in the right foot while trying to escape across fields.
Gardaí have yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
