A judge today told a parcel delivery worker who admitted abducting and killing a 16-year-old girl that he must expect to spend the rest of his life in custody.

Mr Justice Astill was speaking as he sentenced John Taylor, of Cockshott Drive, Bramley, Leeds, to two life sentences for the murder and kidnap of Leanne Tiernan.

Taylor admitted grabbing Leanne near her home in Bramley, Leeds, on November 26, 2000 and strangling her that day at his home.

Passing sentence at Leeds Crown Court, the judge said to Taylor: ‘‘You are a dangerous sexual sadist.’’
