Man held as Gardaí continue to examine Cavan death

A 19-year-old man is in custody following the discovery of a body at a house in Cavan.

A 19-year-old man is in custody following the discovery of a body at a house in Cavan.

He is being held in Bailieborough Garda station.

Garda forensic teams are still combing the house where a man in his mid-50s was found dead earlier this morning.

The police investigation got underway when the dead man was discovered at Lisgar, in Bailieborough, at around 2am.

The State Pathologist is due at the scene.
