Scotland centre Max Evans is to face trial charged with hitting a man with a glass at a nightclub.

Scotland centre Max Evans is to face trial charged with hitting a man with a glass at a nightclub.

The 28-year-old former Glasgow Warriors star is accused of assaulting Alasdair McCaig at Edinburgh’s Lulu nightclub on August 1 last year.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court, he continued his plea of not guilty to the charge that he struck McCaig on the face with a glass to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.

A hearing will be held on November 7 to debate outstanding legal issues.

Evans, who plays for French side Castres, had his bail continued.
