Councillors approve new standards on apartment size

Councillors in Dublin have approved new guidelines that will see the minimum apartment size in the city increase by up to 25%.

Councillors in Dublin have approved new guidelines that will see the minimum apartment size in the city increase by up to 25%.

The plans had been subject to public consultation since May.

They stipulate minimum standards in relation to floor size, ceiling height, storage space and play areas.

The new regulations, which are far in excess of Government guidelines, are designed to make city apartments more attractive to families.
