Fulham are hoping to complete the signing of Norwegian striker John Carew from Valencia in the coming days.

The two clubs have agreed a £7.5m fee and Carew’s representatives travelled to London for talks with Fulham officials over the weekend.

A Valencia negotiator said the deal has already been completed, but Fulham insisted that the minor details have still to be finalised.

“We expect to conclude the transfer deal subject to a satisfactory outcome of a medical,” the British club said.
