Posh knocked off best-dressed list

Victoria Beckham has plummeted in the style stakes and is now considered among the world’s worst-dressed female celebrities, according to a poll published today.

For the past two years, she has topped the best-dressed list voted by readers of Prima magazine.

But this year she came second only to Jordan as the world’s worst-dressed celebrity.

Her uniform of micro-minis, high heels and tight tops got the thumbs down from British women.

Instead it was movie star Catherine Zeta Jones who topped the best dressed list.

Big Brother presenter Davina McCall was second in the fashion stakes.

Dame Judi Dench was third, striking a blow for stylish older women.

Actress Emma Thompson was fourth, thanks to her re-invention this year as a glamorous diva. Cat Deeley was fifth.

Joining Jordan and Posh in the worst dressed list were Britney Spears, last year’s winner Christina Aguilera and Cherie Blair.

Prima editor Maire Fahey said: “It’s lovely to see Catherine Zeta Jones at the top of the best-dressed list this year.

“No matter where she goes, or what she is doing, she always looks just fantastic. She is also a great role model, sticking to sensible eating plans and exercise to lose her baby weight.

“Jordan and Victoria both have quite extreme style, which may alienate some women. Posh has also been dressing down a lot more lately and her ‘street’ style may have earned her the place on the worst-dressed list.”

Best-dressed list:

1 Catherine Zeta Jones

2 Davina McCall

3 Dame Judi Dench

4 Emma Thompson

5 Cat Deeley

Worst dressed list:

1 Jordan

2 Victoria Beckham

3 Britney Spears

4 Christina Aguilera

5 Cherie Blair
