Two Kenyan women were both jailed for four years for selling a brew, known as kumi-kumi, that may have killed up to 126 people in a Nairobi slum.

Both the women were convicted of killing three people with the brew, which was spiked with industrial alcohol.

The Nairobi court heard how one of the women continued selling the poisonous drink last year even as two of its victims lay dead in her house.

Both women appealed for leniency, saying they were single mothers with children to support.

Meanwhile, a case against four directors of a Nairobi chemicals company accused of supplying them with methanol collapsed due to lack of evidence.
