Gardaí have today issued an appeal to anyone with information about the latest gangland murder in west Dublin.

Twenty-nine-year-old Richie McCormack was shot dead outside his brother's house in the Ronanstown area on Saturday night.

He is believed to have been involved in the drugs trade and was reportedly a suspect in two gun murders himself.

His killing came just two days after the fatal shooting of 29-year-old John Berney at his home in Newcastle last Thursday night.

Mr Berney was also a known criminal, but reports this morning say gardaí do not believe at this stage that there is any link between the two murders.
