Kerry's O'Mahony out of Munster final

Kerry's Aidan O'Mahony will play no part in next Sunday's Munster SFC final after dislocating his elbow in a training game over the weekend.

The Kerry County Board confirmed that O'Mahony is 'out of contention for a place in the squad for the final', having suffered the injury in an A v B practice match between Eamonn Fitzmaurice's Kingdom squad.

A statement from Kerry GAA confirmed: "Following medical treatment Aidan's elbow was relocated on Saturday evening. He will meet with a consultant later this week when the full extent of the injury will be diagnosed."

The Rathmore clubman was set to feature at full-back in the provincial decider against Cork. He wore the number 3 jersey in Kerry's recent Championship wins over Tipperary and Waterford.

O'Mahony, who turned 33 earlier this month, has played 55 times in the Championship for Kerry since 2004. He lined out at full-back in Kerry's 0-17 to 0-12 Munster semi-final loss to Cork twelve months ago.

St. Michael's/Foilmore clubman Mark Griffin could come in to replace O'Mahony for the Killarney clash, having deputised for him in the position during the Allianz League campaign, including the 0-11 to 0-7 victory over the Rebels in March.

Shane Enright could also be utilised in a rejigged defence, while Eoin Brosnan, Kerry's 2013 captain, is back from a knee injury to boost Ditzmaurice's selection options. He played a full match for Dr. Croke's in the County League yesterday.

Brosnan missed the start of Kerry's Munster Championship run but had a 20-minute cameo at the end of their 4-21 to 1-4 hammering of Waterford on June 2.
