Adams: SF aims to be in government on both sides of border
Sinn Féin says its main objective for the coming years is to be in government on both sides of the border.
The party's Ard Fheis concludes in Dublin later today, with a discussion on policing due to get underway in the coming hours.
Last night, Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams gave his clearest statement of party policy in recent times.
“We will be in a power-sharing government in the North once again,” he said. “And if we have the mandate, and if we secure an inter-party government and a programme for government which is consistent with Republican objectives, we will look at government in the South.”
“Sinn Féin is about gaining political power - our objective is an all-Ireland parliament for all the people of Ireland”, the party president said.
