A 24 year-old man has died following a single-car collision in Co Cork.

A 24 year-old man has died following a single-car collision in Co Cork.

It happened at Killeens in Blarney shortly before 2am this morning, when the driver, the only occupant of the car, was killed when the vehicle struck a ditch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place later today.

Motorists are advised that the road is closed and will remain closed until lunchtime today.
