Zac Efron is in talks to star in ‘The Lucky One’.
The ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ actor may take the leading role in the novel-to-big-screen adaptation, penned by Nicholas Sparks, whose previous material ‘The Notebook’, ‘Dear John’ and ‘The Last Song’ have all been made into movies.
‘The Lucky One’ tells the tale of a marine who survives three tours of duty in Iraq with the help of a photograph of a woman from North Carolina he has never met.
Scott Hicks is currently attached to direct the picture, which will be produced by Denise Di Novi and Kevin McCormick.
Will Feters has adapted the screenplay for the movie.
Zac, 22, is set to work on a number of upcoming projects, including an English language version of ‘Snabba Cash’ and ‘Art of the Steal’.
He is currently promoting ‘Charlie St. Cloud’, which is due for release in the US on Friday ahead of a worldwide release throughout the rest of the year.
