IFK Gothenburg 0 Derry City 1
Shaun Hargan scored the only goal as Derry City enjoyed a shock European win away against Swedish side Gothenburg.
Derry landed the shock UEFA Cup first qualifying round first leg win in Sweden against a club who had won the trophy twice.
Hargan scored the winner with 10 minutes remaining through a header from a corner when he lost his marker Niclas Alexandersson, the former Everton player.
Killian Brennan also hit the bar with a long-range effort as Derry were unlucky not to win by a greater margin.
When Gothenburg put the Derry goal under pressure goalkeeper David Forde and central defenders Peter Hutton and Darren Kelly worked hard the limit the home side’s chances.
