The UVF has admitted the bomb-making factory in north Belfast this week was under its control.

However, it is claiming that the explosive devices were left over from last summer's feud with the UDA and were not for use against Catholics.

Billy Hutchinson and David Ervine of the PUP, the UVF's political wing, met the paramilitary leadership, who denied any connection between the bombs and drugs found nearby.

David Ervine said an internal UVF inquiry had been launched into the drug find and said the results of this would be made public.
