Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking today announced that it has appointed a dedicated media finance person in the US and further appointments will be made in the near future.

Bank of Ireland already has a well-established media finance team in the UK specialising in mid-market media transactions throughout Europe. The new team to be based in Stamford, Connecticut will firmly establish Bank of Ireland’s presence in the US as the Bank seeks to grow its global media finance franchise.

The new US-based team will offer finance to media companies in the publishing, information services, broadcasting, out-of-home, cable television and digital media sectors and will have a specific focus on transactions in the mid-market space.

Chris Mangan, who recently joined Bank of Ireland from GE Commercial Finance where he was Managing Director of their Global Media and Communications Group, has been appointed as Managing Director and Head of US Media Finance.

Tom Hayes, Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking said: “We are delighted to announce the expansion of our media business into the US and the appointment of Chris is a real coup for our global media finance business.

"This highlights our ambitious growth plans as we seek to build on the success that we have already achieved in the UK and European markets. We already have a strong Corporate Banking presence in other areas in the US and this new team underpins our strategy of developing a portfolio of niche skill-based activities internationally.
