Police in the North have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the murder of a kitchen porter in north Belfast last month.

25-year-old David Cupples, a Protestant from the east of the city, died on Christmas day after being attacked in Cliftonpark Avenue as he went to work on December 22.

Police believe he may have been attacked by a sectarian gang who mistook him for a Catholic.

Two 20-year-old men have already appeared in court charged with attempting to obtain and dispose of video evidence which could help catch the killers.

They were also charged with withholding information about the attempted murder of a leading loyalist, John Gregg, on December 21.
