Report: Gun and drug crime doubles in four years

Limerick and Dublin south city have been found to have the highest per capita murder rates in the country.

A new crime report from the Central Statistics Office has also revealed that drugs, explosives and gun crime doubled over the four years.

Meanwhile, Cavan and Monaghan had more drunken drivers - 736 for every 100,000 people.

The lowest number of drunken drivers were in Dublin East at 183 per 100,000, while the State average was 405 per 100,000.
