Arts Council calls for funding increase

The Arts Council, the national agency for development of the Arts, is to seek €60m in funding from Government.

The Arts Council, the national agency for development of the Arts, is to seek €60m in funding from Government.

The Council has received 370 applications from groups seeking financial support next year.

This year, the council received €44m from the Government. This was a reduction of over 11% when inflation was taken into account.
