Sevilla striker Kepa Blanco has joined West Ham on loan for the rest of the season, according to the Spanish club.

The Hammers were one of a number of Premiership sides linked with the 23-year-old, who has found his chances with Sevilla limited this term.

Manchester City, Charlton and Everton were also thought to be keen on the player, but manager Alan Curbishley appears to have won the race for his signature.

A statement on Sevilla's website, www.sevillafc.es, confirmed the player's switch, saying: "The centre forward of Sevilla, Kepa, will play for the rest of the season at the English team West Ham.

"The agreement between the two clubs, which was finalised today, includes an option to buy which the Premier League side, if they want to own the player, must exercise before June 30 - the date which Kepa's transfer to West Ham ends."
