Tokyo's Nikkei 225 ended its week with a rise of 2.7% in stark contrast to the massive losses in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami which has left it 10% lower overall.
The G7 group of nations helped provide that boost, by agreeing to curb the value of the Yen.
The Bank of Japan also injected an extra 3 trillion yen into the markets overnight.
