Labour has published its blueprint for reform of the Dáil.

Labour has published its blueprint for reform of the Dáil.

The party said too many holidays, along with lengthy inquiries, and the lack of government accountability are to blame for the public's lack of confidence in the political system.

It is proposing to boost Dáil sitting time by fourteen weeks a year, including abolishing the St Patrick's and Halloween breaks.

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte said his plan is designed to restore public trust.
