About 56% of executives in Ireland and the UK expect Information Technology spending by their organizations to increase over the next three years, according to results of a survey released today by Accenture.
The Accenture study was based on a survey of more than 300 general business managers and IT managers from large companies in Ireland and Britain.
Although the study found a large proportion of both groups (56% of business managers and 38% of IT managers) believe that IT is under-delivering against investments, study findings generally indicate the historic tension between business managers and their IT counterparts is diminishing.
The study also found that when business and IT goals are not aligned, IT projects are more likely to fail.
The Bathwick Group, on behalf of Accenture, surveyed a total of 307 senior business managers and IT executives in the UK and Ireland for the study.
