HSA start 'smoking ban' meetings

The Health and Safety Authority is holding the first of a series of a series of nationwide public meetings in Sligo tonight, on the proposed smoking ban in pubs.

The Health and Safety Authority is holding the first of a series of a series of nationwide public meetings in Sligo tonight, on the proposed smoking ban in pubs.

The meetings will be an opportunity for employers, workers and members of the public to hear first-hand the scientific evidence that inspired the law.

Chief Executive of the HSA Tom Beegan says people will also have a chance to give their views before the proposals are finalised.
