Mariah 'in attempt to stop new Eminem album'

Rapper Eminem is set to shock Mariah Carey by releasing a series of scathing tracks about her, according to reports.

The star - real name Marshall Mathers III - has allegedly drawn inspiration from a brief affair with the singer in 2001 for his new album.

But Carey is upset and has pleaded with label boss LA Reid to stop the tracks from being released.

A source told 'OK!' magazine: "There is more than one track that goes into really specific, intimate detail about what went on between Em and Mariah.

"Mariah wishes she could sue Eminem for slander. But it's his freedom of speech."

Carey has previously denied the romance, telling Playboy magazine earlier this year: "Something is clearly askew with him. I'm curious as to why he's so obsessed with me."
