Sligo assault victim to be laid to rest

A man who died after being in assaulted in Sligo last week will be laid to rest later this morning.

A man who died after being in assaulted in Sligo last week will be laid to rest later this morning.

Cyril Moran was seriously assaulted at his home in Cartron Point one week ago today.

He died in Sligo General Hospital on Sunday.

Gardai in Sligo are continuing to investigate his death and are appealing for the public's assistance in connection with the fatal assault.

Two men in their late 20s were arrested and subsequently released without charge.

A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Moran's funeral mass will take place in St. Anne's Church in Sligo at 11am this morning.
