Hundreds of people have gathered in Dublin for a march to show solidarity with the victims of child abuse at religious-run state institutions.

The march has been arranged by victims groups and children's charities in response to the recent report from the Child Abuse Commission.

Participants are being asked to wear white and carry a child's shoe as they march from Parnell Square to Leinster House this lunchtime.

The organisers of the march intend to deliver a petition to the religious orders involved in child abuse to lay a number of wreaths in memory of the victims.
