Trio to face court on terror charges

Three men will appear in court in the North today on terrorism and blackmail charges.

Three men will appear in court in the North today on terrorism and blackmail charges.

They were arrested during a major Police Service operation against serious crime in counties Derry and Tyrone.

The men, aged 28, 30 and 44 were detained in Dungiven and Strabane.

All three have been charged with terrorist funding and blackmail. The 30-year-old faces the additional charge of making threats to kill.

They were charged on Saturday night and are appearing before Derry Magistrates Court.

A fourth man arrested during the same operation was released by police without charge pending a report to the North's Public Prosecution service.
