Two people are in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle road accident near Dublin Airport this morning.

Two people are in a critical condition following a multi-vehicle road accident near Dublin Airport this morning.

Five cars were involved in the crash, which happened on the M1 between the Donabate and Swords exits at around 2.30am.

The M1 southbound is closed between Walshestown and Donabate and will remain closed until 10am for technical examination.

Motorists are being warned to expect serious delays and to avoid the area if possible.
